Its a lightwave model...I did go in and put in a few generic textures and many many shades of gray. I got this one when I first started with my lightwave trial...and I do know it is HUGE!!!
Just a general fyi-each ship is an individual render, with the vipers added last.

I've had 20 wilson battlestars in the same lightwave frame but rendering with real lens camera shows up loads of mesh holes that somehow dissappear when rendered with classic camera, guess the model isn't radiosity friendly. Lightwave, even on a meagre system, would have no problems handling the polycount of that whole scene.
